The property is ideal for couples, families, or small groups seeking a quiet stay in Franschhoek. All rooms feature en-suite bathrooms, designed for comfort and privacy. Guests have access to a pool, jacuzzi, cosy lounge with a fireplace in winter, and an honesty bar, creating a relaxed atmosphere that feels like home.

The property is located approximately 10 minutes from the Huguenot Memorial, an estimated 13-minute walk from the main street, and an estimated 22-minute walk from the Franschhoek Wine Tram terminal (or 6 minutes by car). Breakfast is served each morning and can be enjoyed indoors during winter and outdoors on the patio in summer. The layout of the property focuses on practical use of space, with easy access to key areas.

What makes Blue different from theLAB Franschhoek?

Blue is the quiet one. Nine individually designed rooms at 4 Erika Street, surrounded by trees and garden, with a pool, a jacuzzi, a lounge with a fireplace in winter and an honesty bar. Same village, same breakfast, fewer people around you.

Book theLAB Franschhoek if you want a busier house with the duplex villas next door. Book Blue if you want to sit in a garden and hear nothing.

How far is the village?

About a 13 minute walk to the main street, and about 10 minutes to the Huguenot Memorial. The Franschhoek Wine Tram terminal is a 22 minute walk, or 6 minutes by car.

So you can walk to dinner and walk home again. Parking is free and on site if you would rather drive down.

Which room should we book?

  • Economy Room. Queen bed and a shower. Everything you need.
  • Deluxe Room. A super king bed we can split into two singles, with air conditioning.
  • Family Superior Room. A king bed plus a separate room with two single beds, and a bathroom with both a bath and a shower.

Is there a pool and a jacuzzi?

Yes, both, in the garden with a view of the mountains, and both are shared by guests. The pool is not heated.

Is breakfast included?

Yes, and it is a la carte, so you order what you actually want rather than queueing at a buffet. Eaten in the garden when the weather behaves.

Can we bring our dog?

Unfortunately not. Because of the smaller size of our property, the setting is not suitable for dogs. If you are travelling with a dog, theLAB Robertson and theLAB Franschhoek are both pet friendly.

Is Blue good for children?

The Family Superior Room is built for a family of four, and the garden gives children somewhere to be. It is a small, calm guesthouse, so if you have a baby who is up at night, tell us and we will put you where you will not worry about the neighbours.

What about wine tastings and getting around?

Same village, same options as our other Franschhoek places: walk to the tasting rooms in town, take the wine tram, or let us help you arrange a driver for a day on the farms. Tell us what you like to drink and we will plan it with you.
