Our Story
Behind theLAB is our warm and dedicated hospitality team, creating exceptional experiences for every guest. Located in two of the most prestigious destinations, Franschhoek and Robertson, our genuine hospitality is what makes every stay feel personal.
Three properties. One soul.
Born from a dog named Einstein
The first theLAB property was never built around a business plan. It was built around a Labrador. Einstein was his name, and he was something else entirely. Intelligent beyond measure, endlessly warm, and the kind of presence that made every space feel better the moment he entered it. He had a rare ability to make people feel instantly at ease.
On 3 December 2018, Einstein passed away at the remarkable age of 16. But what he gave us has never left. It still lives within theLAB. The warmth you feel when you arrive, a slower pace, and a more considered approach, that is Einstein. It is in how you are welcomed, how space feels, and the sense that you can simply settle in without effort.
