CapeTownMagazine.com hosted their first Supper Social on 10 July at Mediterranean-styled restaurant Sotano on Bree. Making waves on Instagram during the course of night, with its hashtag #capetownmagsuppersocial, theLAB Guesthouses reports back here to readers of our blog on this brilliant initiative that’s not to be missed in future!
The evening kicked off with chats and catch-ups at the downstairs deli, where guests collected their delicious Pintxos canapés paired with an Inverroche Coco l’Orange Gin Cocktail. Wow!
Storytelling is an important part of any brand these days, with main sponsors Inverroche and Warwick Estate each taking to the podium to tell a bit about how they started and where they’re heading today. Next up, owner of CapeTownMagazine.com Marcus Zandhuis welcomed guests and encouraged an evening of the “best friend’s birthday on Christmas Eve” kind of vibe, which was followed by the arrival of the plated mixed sushi starter paired with Warwick First Lady Sauvignon Blanc.
And socialise we did, with just enough networking thrown in that potential business deals were touched on without making us feel like we were at a conference dinner. By the time the mains arrived – either a Spanish seafood paella paired with Warwick First Lady Chardonnay or a Mediterranean Lamb Burger paired with Warwick First Lady Cabernet Sauvignon – it was like those present were old friends, having covered topics ranging from travels and foreign language skills, to parenting and politics.
Before dessert arrived – a Cheesecake with Turkish delight ice cream, rose petals, and pink peppercorns paired with Warwick First Lady Rosé – there was just time to buy an extra raffle ticket or two before the winners of the exquisite range of prizes were announced.
theLAB Guesthouses’ contribution to the raffle was a fantastic getaway to theLAB Robertson | Rosendal for all present! Other raffle prizes included helicopter rides, kombi tours, dinner vouchers, hotel stays and aquarium visits. Each person also received a double ticket to the Cape Town Comedy Club.
Watch our social media channels, as well as those of CapeTownMagazine.com itself, for photos and shenanigans from the night. And don’t miss the next Supper Social.
